It may be hard to believe, but summer events are back in Philadelphia for 2021! As vaccination rates rise and Covid-19 cases fall, it’s time to safely get back into having fun. Whether you’re looking to keep your family busy, explore new date night ideas, or have fun with a group of friends, there’s something for everyone in Philadelphia this summer.

We missed so many of our favorite events last summer, so it’s encouraging to see all the longtime traditions coming back. While it’s not technically summer yet, the Philadelphia Flower Show is a great kick-off to the season. This year, the flower show is moving outside for the very first time in its long history! The Manayunk Arts Festival will take over the streets of Manayunk in late June, and the WaWa Welcome America event is finalizing dates and details for Independence Day celebrations. We’ll also see a return of live shows and music to all of the area’s great arenas, stadiums, and entertainment venues.

While biding your time between the lineup of festivals and shows this summer, enjoy all that Philly has to offer day-to-day. This summer, it’s all about being outside. Visit any of the city’s parks, arboretums, and gardens, or stroll along the waterfront. Whether you’re on the Delaware or the Schuylkill, there’s just something about being near the water that relaxes the body and mind. And after the year we’ve had, we all need that relaxation!
Don’t forget to get out of town once in a while! Valley Forge Park is always a great visit, and there are countless trails in the region to explore by biking or hiking. We are lucky to live in an area so rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. You could fill every weekend with something different!
